GCG provided the City of Taunton with comprehensive survey, design, bidding, and construction administration services for the Davol Park Renovation Project. The existing park included a baseball field, basketball court, and small play structure, all of which had reached the end of their useful life and had remained largely unused for an extended period. The City sought to revitalize the space, maximize its recreational potential, and create a welcoming destination where residents and the surrounding community could gather, socialize, and enjoy a variety of amenities. The project transformed the underutilized site into a vibrant, multi-generational recreational park featuring a wide range of amenities, including pickleball courts, bocce courts, horseshoe pits, cornhole areas, shuffleboard courts, game and picnic tables, a shade structure, fitness equipment, walking paths, and a new bathroom facility. The park also includes separate large and small dog parks, providing dedicated spaces for residents and their pets to enjoy the outdoors. The renovated park was designed to provide diverse recreational opportunities for users of all ages and abilities. The entire park is ADA accessible, creating an inclusive environment that allows the community to fully enjoy the new amenities and open space.
